National target shotgun association (NTSA) national championship 2025.
Reepham shooting centre proudly hosted the 2025 NTSA Nationals competition this weekend , 5th/6th of July with 4 members representing the RSC, where competitors from as far away as Scotland travelled down to compete.
Saturday's competition consisted of 3 events T&P timed and precision, multi target ,both shot with 12g solid slug and bird shot standards a timed event shooting steel plates with varying start positions.
Sunday's competition was slimmed down due to the weather and ended up being the 50 meter precision competition using two targets one for sighting in and then 10 shots on the scoring target.
Saturday's competition was hard fought for with only 8 points separating the top six and only 3 points between 1st and 3rd.
Jason Bosworth took the overall win in with a score of 380 and 13Xs closely followed by Nick Barnard with 377 and 9Xs.
All 4 RSC members finished in the top ten which is a cracking result.
The birdshot standards match which is a test of speed and accuracy as a missed plate costs you a 5 second penalty and was also very tight competition but all 4 RSC members finished in the top 6 with Chris McLaren taking the top spot.
Sunday's 12g precision slug competition was a tough one with the standard of shooting getting better all the time, scoring was on IPSC full size targets with 3 scoring zones, Alpha -Charlie-Delta and a miss is classed as a Mike , in the top six shooters there were 4 with 9Alpha and 1 Charlie.
The 1st and 2nd place both scored 10 Alpha's both shooters from the RSC, it came down to group size for who was the winner.
1st place Nick Barnard
2nd place Mark Roberts.
So all in all a fantastic result for the RSC.
If any of our members want to get involved or give it try as a great way to get into dynamic shooting then feel free to get in touch either through the club secretary or pop up to the practical range.
nge.ge on the first Saturday of the month.
