UCM Match This is a standing match at Diggle, every organised CSR matches have the UCM to start the day, normal format applies on a well run range for this match. It is a favourite with all shooters, decent scores across the board on this one! Short Range Practices Match Having had a few months of long range matches it was time to get into the short range matches. You may think that short range is easy, but 2 of the 5 practices involve standing and movement at 100, which isnt as easy as it sounds! 5 practices, 2x100yds, 1x200yds and 2x300yds. 52 rnds. The 100yds matches are designed to level the playing field a little as the practices are prone at 300yds, and scores expected to be high, the 100yds matches are standing, and standing with kneeling and mag changes. The 200yds practice is a straight standing into sitting on a small Fig 14 window target. Lets talk about the weather for this one. It is not unusual to get some rain at diggle, after all, it sits in a valley just off the Saddleworth moor, but this weekend was the weekend with a weather warning expecting storms. Russ Price was firing on detail A&B so had the real luxury of no rain, some sunny spells and little wind. Trev shooting on details C&D after a short lunch break and Butts turnaround had god awful weather with extremely hard rain for a full hour. At 200 yds, you couldn't see the targets! Wind though was negligible. No excuses, its just luck of the draw and the weather itself doesn't care who is shooting! If it aint raining, it aint training! As far as scores goes, Trev came second in class just a couple of points behind the winner, with Russ finishing third.
