Diggle CSR League Feb 2026

CSR Matches: 14 February 2026. Location: Diggle C & D Ranges Weather: Sunshine, damp ground Temp: 1 Degrees. Wind AM: 6 mph, right to left

An interesting days competition on the long range match. The range was eerily similar in conditions to January with just less snow on the ground but a little more wind. On the firing points, especially the 600, you couldn't feel any wind, perhaps a very very light breeze, but there was a firm changeable 4-6 mph wind in the valley, confirmed by sighters, which was a little confusing!!

February Matches UCM. As always, starting with an Urban match designed to test positional technique and accuracy under time duress across 4 distances. This is a dynamic match with shooters completing all four practices back to back, the match itself is a quick one taking just 8 minutes to complete, slight change to the practices for safety reasons with and extra 5 seconds granted for the run downs. Long Range Practices: The long range practices match consisted of two practices at 600yds (prone), 1 at 500 yds (prone) and two at 400yds (sitting and prone) These practices are always a little challenging, given there is no way to safely execute run downs at Diggle due to the nature of the terrain, the courses of fire are demanding with sometimes shorter timed exposures, mandatory magazine changes and positional changes like sitting at 400, or advancing to prone from standing at the rear of the firing points, each has its own quirks and requires some thought. Throw in centre target scoring, where the two outer targets dont, and any fliers that peel off with the wind drops your score enormously!
